Cramping, numbness, tingling, burning, pain, my mom would frequently complain of it all. What I thought was an excuse for not going out to play Across the country we’re seeing the COVID-19 vaccine rolling out and people are adding a layer of protection from the SARS-CoV-2 virus. But be careful, just because you’re vaccinated doesn’t mean you’re 100% in the clear, you still need to protect from the inside out.
A: Mostly likely you won’t get the serious symptoms of COVID-19, however you could get a mild or asymptomatic infection that could set off other infections and complications. Right now, COVID-19 has affected people in so many different ways, even mild symptoms can have lingering and long lasting effects.
A: They make you immune, but not invincible. Current data shows the mRNA vaccines are about 94% to 95% effective. Some research says even less, as low as 80%. The single dose Johnson & Johnson was found to be 66% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19. What that means is there’s still a chance someone who received the vaccine could contract COVID-19. In addition, if you’re not supporting your body’s ability to mount a strong immune and antibody response after taking the vaccine, you could be less protected.
A: Treat your body well before and after taking the vaccine. Especially after. Research has shown that staying hydrated, not drinking alcohol, getting plenty of rest, and eating less inflammatory foods not only will support a strong immune response but also lessen the effects of the vaccine.
A: The strongest protection you can give yourself is your health. It’s not about evading the virus, it’s about recovering from it. The body has wondrous abilities to protect, defend, and recover from trauma IF you give it all the health it needs. SHIELD does that, it provides the body a concentrated set of powerful adaptogens and antioxidants to allow the body’s own immune systems to work efficiently and properly. Be your own vaccine by being the healthiest you can be.
